I have a Dachshund. His name is Vladimir. He’s a little guy with a big name, but you can’t tell him that. He thinks he can dominate everything that moves. It gets him into trouble most of the time. He loves playing with other dogs, but only if they are submissive and/or as small as him – and if he comes across an un-neutered male dog, then forget it! He feels as if he can’t conquer a beast with such defining anatomy and will most likely attack. He likes the smell of dog cologne and deodorant. He can’t bear to feel like a lesser dog and, therefore, needs to defend his pride. Who can blame him? He is Vladimir the Conquerer after all. He will not accept defeat. Unless you offer him a rawhide, biscuit, piece of meat, or heck, even a dirty sock. His stomach will always come before his pride.
A Musical Evening at the City Club
We live in a mid size city in India. My two daughters are studying in college and stay in a hostel in a city some 1500 KM away. They had come down for a short autumn break of 10 days. After 3 days at home they were rather bored and wanted me to take them out for dinner. We decided to go to the city club where there was a musical evening followed by dance. The girls were excited and for a change got ready on time. The club was jam packed, but we managed to get good seats from where we could watch the stage show comfortably. There were two singers. One rendered old classical songs while the other enthralled the crowd with the latest numbers. When their show was over the stage was left open people who wanted to dance to recorded music. The girls were the first ones on the stage and continued dancing till late in the night. Finally when they were exhausted, they agreed to move in for dinner. There was hardly any thing left so we just had to be content with pizzas; however we did not mind it as we had a great time.
Otto the Samoyed
We got our dog Otto ten years ago from a local shelter. We had just lost our male Sammie at age 14 and we wanted to share our home and our love with another dog. Our son was just two and so was this dog we saw listed as being available at the shelter. He had been found as a stray running near a local freeway. Lucky for him, he was picked up. We took him home, wrapped him in a winter dog coat and named him Otto. There was really no reason to his name. He just seemed like an Otto. At first he was quiet and unsure of his new surroundings. But he soon began to show us his real personality. He is quite a character. Otto was so young and untrained. Once he stole a sandwich from the kitchen table. He also enjoyed burying his droppings like a cat. So we had to warn people not to give him any big kisses on the snout. Today, Otto is a very calm, sweet twelve year old. He and our son grew up together and have both grown into much more mature boys.
Cute Pom
I have a cute Pomeranian dog. It is very calm and behaves well to others. I usually provide healthy food and lovely atmosphere. It is acting like a watchman to safeguard my home from thieves. Monthly once I do hair cut and take to the veterinary dog for check-up. If I feel angry it won’t come to me. It is very sensitive. But it loves its dog Christmas stockings. I used to play football with it. I never consider it is an animal. I take care of it like my child. It is really a god’s gift. Through this, I request all the people all around the world to keep a dog for the peaceful ambiance.
