There are many reasons why I love to study astrophysics.  Some of the main reasons are to find potential life on other planets, help keep life on this planet going, and to locate comets that cross Earth’s orbital path that are 10 kilometers or greater in size.  Potential life on other planets can be found by evaluating their light spectrum, looking at the unique spectrum fingerprint that each atom and molecule holds.  This will tells us the composition of the atmosphere, and thus, if the planet is suitable for life or not.  Keeping life on Earth going is a matter of studying other planets, such as Venus and Mars, and finding out what went wrong on them.   There is evidence that Mars once held water, so what caused it to disappear?  Venus once held H2O as well, but much of the H escaped into space.  Finding comets that cross our orbital path is difficult since we can only see them once they reach Jupiter.

The Astrodon Johnstoni Dinosaur State

The state I live in, Maryland, is a state of many wonders.  Regardless of what type of scenery you like, there will always be a place for you in Maryland.  We have country, rural, urban, and suburban.  We have beaches, mountains, valleys, lakes, and rivers.  Both Baltimore and Annapolis are located in Maryland, along with a number of other famous tourist destinations, such as Ocean City.  Historic landmarks are scattered all over this beautiful state.  I live in Glen Burnie, a town in-between Baltimore and Annapolis.  Both Baltimore and Annapolis are homes to docks, fancy restaurants and streets to walk and buy fine items.

When I woke up today, my clothes were strewn all over my floor.  I couldn’t tell what was clean and what was dirty.  So instead, I opened up the drawer for my pants and pulled out the only two items in it – a pair of white leggings and a red, black, grey, and white plaid skirt.  Then, I sifted through a random basket and found a black, ¾ sleeve sweater to throw over top of the skirt.  After realizing it was way too cold out for white flip flops, I sifted through my closet basket of shoes until I found black high heels with straps on the sides of them.  Realizing I would need a jacket, on my way out the door I grabbed a leather jacket with a hood that was sitting on a chair.  All in all, it made a great outfit.

A Worm Through An Apple

My favorite TV show is Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman.  This show talks about the latest advancements and theories in astrophysics, astronomy, and physics.  The show airs on the History Channel, and it talks about planets, stars, galaxies, solar system and even the possibility of life on other planets and how life may have come to our planet.  Morgan Freeman talks about the latest advancements that allow us to see other planets and even deeper into our own planets in this solar system.  He also talks about the physics of how things, such as wormholes and time travel, may work.
